Professors often want to make course materials (books, films, journals, and more) accessible to all students enrolled in the course. If your professor has placed copies of their course materials "on reserve," it means these materials are available in the Salem Library, and you may check them out for 3 hours at a time for use within the library.

In Gramley Library, course reserves are kept behind the Information Desk. To access these items, search the Course Reserves portal by course or professor. Present the course information and textbook title to the Library Staff, who will retrieve the item for you. Remember to bring your Salem ID to check out course reserves!

Some reserve materials are eBooks. Those can be accessed outside of the library. If you are off-campus, you will be asked to log into your Salem email to access materials. If you have trouble accessing any materials at any time, please contact us at library@salem.edu.
